Provides leadership to in-house manufacturing operations. Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing practices – quality, delivery, and cost control. Establishes and ensures achievement to goals for key manufacturing performance metrics, such as OEE, Scrap, Direct and Indirect Labor performance, Down Time, Changeover Time, Inventory, Safety, Delivery Performance, Customer Ratings, etc. Review production operations, applying knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and staffing requirements, to produce quality products. Ensure product availability through execution of the production plan to support monthly product availability goals and quarterly inventory goals. Establish and use appropriate key metrics to conduct process and trend analysis. Based on demand planning, oversees the creation of production schedules, material demands and resourcesImplement and sustain a visual factory. Define equipment and capital investments required to support manufacturing and service. Develop annual capital plans and budgets, and manage execution of strategic capital projects in support of operations. Responsible for maintaining, tracking, and understanding plant capacity. Manages, develops, trains, coaches, and evaluates the members of the manufacturing team. This includes conducting annual performance appraisals for all direct reports. Creates and supports annual budgeting process, manages expenses, and support for standard costs. Must be knowledgeable in the effective use of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements. Serve as an active participant and leader of the LSS programs that promote continuous improvement. Will actively engage in Lean Management by encouraging, teaching, participating in, and supporting the Lean Six Sigma culture and tools.
